Labels!
Labels! I’m not really a labels girl, (I’m not really a girl ... not at 51!), although I do prefer Rab, Berghaus and Scarpa outdoor gear and I do cherish so many professional quality brands of art materials .... so perhaps I am a labels lass at heart.
And now I have my own labels, albeit handmade, very small and rather sweet.
I recently departed the printers with a batch of proofs and a question ‘what could I do with these wonderful little portions of my paintings?’ The obvious solution (in my mind) was to transform them into labels, styled like luggage labels, individual mini paintings. So we had a rather enjoyable cottage industry morning slicing, trimming, snipping, hole punching and lots of tea.
The ‘lucky dip labels’ are ready and waiting for new homes in random packs of 6 for £3 ... unique art in miniature.
